Another Elementary Proof of Kharitonov ' sTheoremAndreas
نویسنده
چکیده
In this note yet another proof of Kharitonov's theorem on robust stability of interval polynomials is presented. The proof is based on an analysis of the critical regions where instability may occur; the \bounding property" of the Kharitonov polynomials ensures stability in each case. Only elementary results that have also been used in earlier proofs of the theorem are applied.

Stability Proof of Gain-Scheduling Controller for Skid-to-Turn Missile Using Kharitonov Theorem
Gain scheduling is one of the most popular nonlinear control design approaches which has been widely and successfully applied in fields ranging from aerospace to process control. Despite the wide application of gain scheduling controllers, there is a notable lack of analysis on the stability of these controllers. The most common application of these kinds of controllers is in the field of fligh...
متن کاملKharitonov’s theorem and Hermite’s criterion
In this correspondence we answer a question posed in [WT99] and provide an elementary proof of the Kharitonov theorem deducing it from the classical Hermite criterion. The proof is based on the concept of a Bezoutian matrix. Generally, exploiting the special structure of such matrices (e.g., Bezoutians, Toeplitz, Hankel or Vandermonde matrices, etc.) can be interesting, e.g., leading to unified...
متن کاملOn Kharitonov ' s Theorem without InvariantDegree
Abst ract The original statement of Kharitonov's theorem requires that all polynomials in the family have the same degree. It has been shown recently that such an assumption is unnecessary. Here we show that the validity of the stronger statement follows from a classical proof combined with additional elementary considerations. 1 Introdu ction The original statement of Kharitonov's theorem 3] r...
متن کاملThe Kharitonov theorem with degree drop
The purpose of this note is to present a proof of the Kharitonov theorem based on Bezoutians. An interesting consequence of this proof is that it shows the validity of Kharitonov’s result in the presence of a degree drop.
متن کاملDerivation of new and existing discrete-time Kharitonov theorems based on discrete-time reactances [digital signal processing]
The stability of a continuous-time linear time-invariant system with an uncertain characteristic polynomial has been analyzed by Kharitonov and other researchers. An interesting proof of Khari-tonov's continuous-time stability theorem, based on reactance functions , has recently been advanced. Some of Kharitonov's results have been partially extended to discrete-time systems recently. On the ot...
